Are you looking for a staycation that’ll allow you to just relax and be one with nature? If yes, you may want to consider Ybonita Farm and here are 5 important questions that we’ll answer honestly to help you assess if this one’s right for you.
1. Where is it located?
Ybonita Farm is located in Brgy. Sta. Ana Calatagan Batangas and around 3 hours away from Manila. Popular landmarks near the area are Stilts Calatagan and Crusoe Cabins.
After passing by Barangay Sta. Ana’s signage, in less than 2 mins or a km, you need to turn left before the Pedro Palacio Memorial School. Expect a short rough road before reaching the farm but no worries because even Sedan can make it.
Upon arrival, this tree-lined Mahogany road will give you a glimpse of a calm and relaxing staycation waiting for you. Their friendly staff will also welcome and direct you to your chosen villa.
2. What are the different types of accommodation?
This 2.3 hectare property offers four amazing villas. Intended to be a retirement home, we’re glad they decided to share it to the public through these four unique accommodations that you can book online.
COCONINO
P5,750/night on weekdays and P 6,325/night during weekends (Good for 2 pax)
CACERES VILLA
P6,600/night on weekdays and P6,925/night during weekends (Good for 2-4 pax)
YVATAN VILLA
P18,700/night on weekdays and P 19,550/night during weekends (Good for 6-12 pax)
YPUGO VILLA
P11,000/night both on weekdays and weekends (Good for 2-4 pax)
In our case, we booked their only villa with outdoor pool called Ypugo Villa. From the name itself, you can see that this is inspired by traditional Ifugao houses combined with modern design, taste and convenience.
The first floor houses the bathroom, the lanai for your dining, an area with sink, an outdoor shower, lounge area and the latest addition is their newly built outdoor pool that was opened last March 1, 2023.
On the airconditioned second floor, are two queen-sized beds, fridge, water dispenser, cabinet, tv. table and chair, and a huge window to let you appreciate the grandness of this 2.3 hectare property, exclusively tucked away from the noise of the city.
3. How’s the food?
Ybonita has its own restaurant but meals should be pre-ordered so make sure it’s well coordinated with the management. It’s located at the Central Lanai which is at the end of the mahogany road, and it’s just beside the secret garden.
It’s relatively near from the Ypugo, Caceres and Coconino, and quite a distance from Yvatan Villa. However, you really won’t mind walking with the greeneries surrounding you.
Room rates are inclusive of breakfast but take note that it excludes the 10% service charge. Their food is really delicious! Don’t forget to take home some danggit, kapeng barako or atsara because they also sell it.
4. What activities can be done inside?
Some of the activities that you can do inside include animal feeding. Ybonita farm allows you to feed some of their goats, horses and turkey.
At night, you can have a bonfire for a minimal fee but it is inclusive already of smores to make it more memorable. You may want to bring extra mallows, chocolates and graham if you wish to munch on something until the fire is out.
You may also enjoy the pool inside the secret garden so no need to worry if you’re not able to book the villa with an exclusive outdoor pool. They also offer massage services and tour arrangement for Calatagan’s sandbar called Starfish Island.
5. Do you recommend it?
If you want to escape the noise of the city, but you still want to enjoy modern convenience, Ybonita Farm is right for you. When we stayed in Ypugo Villa and upon seeing other villas from afar, we noticed how traditional and natural pieces were combined with modern concept and furniture that complemented very well giving their accommodations, a character of its own. Mobile phone’s signal is strong, there’s cable TV, toilet and bath is beautiful and the lay out itself is very efficient.
We love the fact that there are other activities that can be done inside the farm especially if you have a toddler with you. Boredom is definitely not a problem.
On food, they make every meal extra special with their superb table setting coupled of course with a very delicious food. They also offer danggit and kapeng barako which you can buy and take home with you.
We are very happy that we have discovered this place as it exceeded our expectations especially that we are just looking for a quick getaway to relax and unwind.
